Visit Thin Ice Press: the York Centre for Print during Colour & Light 2025 to get hands-on with traditional printing and contribute to an editioned art print.

Try your hand at printing using our powered proofing presses, experiment with overprinting, and contribute to a poster that shows combinations of the colours of the rainbow.

Our studio is nestled in the tranquil garden of St Anthony's Hall and overlooked by the city walls. Enter through the double gate for step-free access to the gardens and follow the path to our green front door.

No experience or booking required. All are welcome. Stay for a few minutes or for the whole session.

This drop-in activity will be hosted at Thin Ice Press: the York Centre for Print, just a five minute walk from the site of Colour & Light 2025. This year the event, run by the York BID, is set to transform the iconic South Transept of York Minster from Wednesday 12 February to Sunday 2 March 18:00 to 21:00.
